PDF, as such, does not have a âbuilt inâ OCR. The ability to OCR will be found in other software - such as Abbyy Fine Reader, which we use, daily. PDF is just a document format to hold the finished document in a way which will be read in the same way that it was saved. It used to be just for work going to the printers - so you knew that the final print would be the same as the proof. These days it has taken over from fax as probably being THE way to transmit printed and signed documents. See also Ppt To Pdf Converter (and others) of course However, it is now easy enough to find a programme which will allow you to edit a PDF so care must be taken to âlockâ the file.
Now this is much safer than the old method of opening a document in Word and then changing a few things to make it look as though you had a professional opinion — which would probably result from printing out the document and adding your own comments. A very good place to look for such a package is, where the author can reply directly to queries. For PDF to text/doc conversion, a PDF to Word or LaTeX should work fine. One of the main benefits of Word has now become the 'Copy & Paste' feature. As soon as you save a PDF, it will not save your changes. You will have to start with the original PDF and move it around from where you left off. To convert a PDF to another document with the same format will involve moving around a folder and copying what will be a PDF.
