You are using PowerPoint 2023 or newer, then if you do not see the New Slide dialog box, just click the slide's thumbnail. In some other programs you will see a slide that says “You're using PowerPoint 2023 or earlier.” This is just a bug, PowerPoint is working for now. Select the Slides tab in PowerPoint and click on Presentations. Once you see a list of your slides, select from them one or more. Once you have selected one or more slides, then you can move your mouse around the window and click on your presentation's tabs.
