Open the text in the Outline View A new Text Window opens within the outline view. You can edit and edit outlines 4. Remove or Insert Headings From the toolbar in the right upper corner select 'edit' From the Editor menu, select 'Insert Headers' A 'Insert Header' dialog box opens. Select the items you wish to put into the outline. Click 'OK', or click the 'Finish' button at the top, and then click 'OK' in the 'Insert Headers' dialog box to complete the operation 5. Merge Tables and Text The new Merge Tables and Text dialog box When you create a table, you can choose to have it automatically merged with the text on the Outline This merges can be undone, but it does nothing if you want to keep the original tables, columns or rows Click the 'Merge Tables and Text' dialogue box, to merge tables and text A new dialog box opens to handle the merge Once the merge operation is complete, the text from the table in the new table is automatically added beneath the 'Merge Selected Items' and 'Include Items from Tables' headers. Note: The text from the table is displayed in italics on the right side of the table in your Outline. The text below the header is displayed in bold. A word of caution; use the text boxes on the merge panel to highlight what needs to be created in the merged table instead of what needs to be created in the original table. If a text or text box with a focus is selected, click to select the text being changed, this will ensure the desired changes are applied in that spot and not in the text underneath it. The Merge Options panel has 5 tabs and the 'Merge Tabs' tab is the first one. The 'Merged Columns and Tabs' tab contains the fields which you have to use for the table in order to perform the merge and will be displayed in the above example. The merged columns and tabs are highlighted above. When you select one of them, an image of it will be placed in your Outline. In the above example, the highlighted fields are the Column and Tab names with the highlighted columns as a background and the 'Merged' tab.
